Learn how the right questions are selected to build the perfect survey for the recipient and for the touchpoint you're measuring.
In this article, you'll learn:

Question Pools
When a survey is triggered in Starred, it is generated automatically using a predefined question pool.
All you have to do to enable your surveys is:
1. Select the Package of questions and Framework you wish to use. 📘Learn how to add a Package →
2. Create your workflows with the help of our Customer Experience team. 📘Learn about workflows→
It's currently not possible to customize survey questions.
The content of the survey your candidate or employee will receive is selected based on:
-
Recipient type
(e.g., candidate, hiring manager) -
Workflow stage
(e.g., applied, rejected, hired) -
Active purchased frameworks
(e.g., Candidate Experience, Quality of Hire, Internal Partnership)
The question pool consists of multiple question groups, each linked to specific drivers and sub-drivers. 📘 Learn about Drivers and a Sub-drivers →
One special group is the Net Promoter Score (NPS) question:
-
It contains only one question.
-
For Candidate Experience, it is always placed first in the survey.
Question Selection and Order
The survey is constructed by:
-
Identifying the relevant framework(s) based on the workflow trigger.
-
Selecting the appropriate question groups.
-
Combining them into a single survey.
The final order is randomized to reduce bias, but certain driver-specific questions must appear next to each other, even within the randomized flow.
Scheduling of Send-outs
Surveys are scheduled using workflows and you can choose whether:
- to send immediately
- to schedule a send-out for a few days later
- to schedule a send-out based on a custom field (such as the candidate start date)
Data Collection
Every question includes a driver and a sub-driver, which feeds into driver and sub-driver scoring in dashboards. 📘 Learn about Drivers and a Sub-drivers →
- If a recipient reopens the link before submitting, they return to their previous place and can continue filling in the survey.
